CELTIC FANS had a smile back on their faces for the first time in a long time. The fringe players who went out with a nucleus of first team stars did themselves justice and even bettered what the first team stars managed in France.
The bhoys ran out 3-2 winners in the end and never went behind in the tie. Even being pegged back twice wasn’t enough for the team to fold and they grabbed the all-important third through breakout bhoy David Turnbull.
Ismaila Soro was everywhere too, his full game this evening now eclipsing all the minutes he’s had for the club since tonight. He got a bit of cramp towards the end because he had covered every blade of grass.
Patryk Klilmala also put in a great shift as did Ewan Henderson. It was a good night all round for the club, even though there was nothing to play for.
As Celtic fans gushed over some of the standout players, there seems to be a real fear Neil Lennon will bring back some of the underperforming bhoys for the SPFL tie against Kilmarnock.
The game is on Sunday ane with Brown and Christie both not playing this evening, could the manager actually put both of them back in at the expense of his Thursday night stars?
It could happen, but we’re hoping it won’t.
There is a gigantic elephant in the room. Christie and Brown can't walk back into this team. I am not confident Lennon will make the right choice here.

My biggest fear is brown or Christie coming back into the side at the weekend. The old guard have gone stale and the young keen ones should be allowed to build on tonight. If Christie and edouard come in were back to players who don't want to be there on the park

Thoroughly deserve another chance come the weekend ?? I don’t wanna see Brown or Christie near the starting 11 Sunday ? may be an unpopular opinion to some, but on evidence tonight it’s a fair opinion ??

Soro and Turnbull at the weekend. Don’t just go back to a starting XI that you feel you can’t leave out i.e. Brown, Christie etc. They need to realise that they’ve lost their place now and that will make them work harder to get back in. Only a catalyst if you respond right Neil.
