FORMER CELTIC midfielder Scott Allan told Sky Sports live on air he believes Jota is the best player in the league after the winger grabbed three assists in Dingwall.

The Portuguese star was in scintillating form six days after his incredible strike against Aberdeen.

We have spoken to so many Benfica supporters who are irate the player was allowed to be sold to Celtic. Many of the Benfica fans felt there was a player there ready to burst onto the scene.

Celtic were clever and grabbed the player on loan with an option to buy. Had they not put the option in place, Jota would have been financially our of reach for the Scottish Champions.

As cited by RecordSport, Scott Allan said:

“For me he’s the best player in the league. His numbers last season were incredible. In terms of numbers, he’s the player to get the ball to because when he’s on it you know something is going to happen. And he’s got that thing the Celtic fans love – that bit of arrogance on the ball. Another three assists, his numbers are incredible. He’s a player who is only going to get better and if he keeps developing he’ll end up at one of the big teams in Europe.”

But Blinked Kris Boyd believes Alfredo Morelos trumps the Celtic star: “Jota the best player in the league? I’m not too sure about that. Who would I go for? Let’s just say he came back and scored yesterday!”

This is the sort of deep insight we get from Sky Sports when it comes to their pet project Boyd. No professional analysis and just a blinkered outlook when it comes to the Ibrox club.

You’d like to think he’s at the wind up and he’s not that dense, but having had the misfortune of hearing so many of Boyd’s opinions, I lean towards dense.

Alfredo Morelos is a great player for the Ibrox club, but there’s a reason so many rumours have been made up about clubs looking to sign him with nothing materialising.

While Celtic fans won’t want to see Jota leave any time soon, when he does eventually go, it will be for mega bucks. People can see the talent he possesses and with age on his side, he’s only going to get better.

I’m sure the winger won’t lose any sleep over Boyd’s opinion. There are people out there after all who try to make a case for Kris being in the same bracket as Henrik Larsson. The same people who struggle with what liquidation actually means.

  1. Before going off and biting back ay Kris Boyd, ask yourself this: has Boyd ever said anything that makes any sense or that was an honest impartial view?
Has he ever said anything that makes people sit up and listen? Has he ever said anything that hasn’t further embarrased himself?
    Answer? A resounding NO!
So give his comments the treatment they deserve!
Treat them with the disregard they deserve.
    Ignore anything he says.
