Celtic travelled to Aberdeen on Saturday afternoon in need of three crucial Scottish Premiership points. Their efforts, however, were of no avail and the match ended in a 1-1 draw.

Nicolas Kuhn levelled things up for the champions in the second half, but they couldn’t go on to find a winner. Post-match, fans were left rightly frustrated but even before the action got underway, those in Pittodrie’s away end issued a stark warning to the board.

Their message proved timely and over the coming hours and days, there is likely to be more frustration directed towards the club than in a long while.

Manager Brendan Rodgers’ though, has admitted he can’t let the fans’ anger impact him and his players, even though he believes the supporters have the right to express their feelings: “The key thing is not allowing it (fan frustration) to become a distraction for us, that’s really important”, he said (The Scottish Sun).

“Whatever goes on outside, you have to be able to deal with it.

“At a club like Celtic, at the biggest clubs, there will always be that pressure there. I don’t need to add any more on to the players. They understand that playing for Celtic brings that.”

Although Rodgers is eager for outside influences not to impact his players, if things don’t improve, the external voices will only become louder. Many supporters know the team has regressed this season from last, and the current league standings are a testament to such a point.

There is much more football left to be played this season, granted, but the majority of fans aren’t too confident about their team’s title charge.
