Brendan Rodgers has confirmed Callum McGregor will likely be in the squad when Celtic head to Ibrox. However, the Irishman did caution they will make a final call on the Celtic captain tomorrow after their final training session before Sunday’s game.

Presumably that will be to figure out if Callum should start, or how many minutes they believe they can and should get out of the midfielder.

With Callum McGregor in the side, Celtic are a very different proposition. Rangers managers have known for years that to stop Celtic they must stop Callum from having the freedom of the midfield.

Speaking at the press conference today Rodgers said:

“We’ll do one final run with Callum tomorrow on our last session, but he’s done remarkable to come back. He’s way ahead of schedule from what we thought.” he told CeltsAreHere.

It shows you his professionalism and how hard he’s worked. So he’ll be involved in the squad and if he is, it’s great news for us in every capacity.

“We’ve got a clean bill of health for the first time this season, but we’ll make a final call on that tomorrow.”

Celtic know a win at Ibrox would be a massive shot in the arm to their title hopes, but it’s going to be a very tricky game for the Bhoys in green.

Callum coming back in is a piece of the puzzle that Celtic fans wanted to see slot back into things. Tomoki Iwata has performed well in Callum’s absence but when it comes to the experience of this game, Callum is the man!
