Brendan Rodgers highlighted one Celtic star that he believes looks to be raring to go ahead of Celtic’s match against Rangers next Saturday.
With Celtic suffering several injuries throughout the season, Daizen Maeda was the latest to return this afternoon.
Rodgers said: [The National], “We looked like a proper team today. Players back, competition, players working their way back. You see that one run from Callum McGregor, that was enough for me. I know he is ready.”
Callum McGregor previously returned from injury against Rangers at Ibrox off the bench in the reverse fixture, playing his first game since February at the time.
The Celtic captain did appear off the pace at Ibrox and against Aberdeen at Hampden in the Scottish Cup.
However, today he was certainly back to his best, and Rodgers made sure to point this out post-match.
McGregor’s burst of speed during the game was enough to convince the Irishman that he is once again fully fit.
Celtic certainly missed a fully fit McGregor in the reverse fixture at Ibrox, letting a 2-0 lead at halftime slip, ultimately drawing the game 3-3.
But if the Celtic skipper can continue where he left off this afternoon, the Hoops look set to end the Scottish Premiership title race next Saturday.
