Interest from MLS clubs Austin FC and Atlanta United has surfaced, with the transfer window in the United States open until April 23, providing a potential escape route for Abada from his current situation at Celtic.

Atlanta United, having previously secured a deal for Giorgos Giakoumakis from Celtic, is rumoured to be in a favourable position to negotiate for Abada. A reunion with Giakoumakis could appeal to Abada, considering their productive partnership in Glasgow.

Amidst these transfer speculations, it was reported that Abada might be willing to forfeit a portion of his entitled sale fee to facilitate a move away from Celtic and possibly even rip up his contract. However, when questioned about these developments and the possibility of contract termination, Celtic’s stance remains unchanged, with no progress in resolving Abada’s predicament.

Responding to inquiries about the recent reports and any discussions regarding contract termination, Brendan Rodgers said on Celtic TV, “No. There is no update on that. He is still in the same situation and it is difficult for him. We will see if there is a resolution to that.” Additionally, regarding the suggestion of Abada’s willingness to rip up his contract, the response was clear: “I haven’t heard that. No.”

As the situation unfolds, Abada’s future at Celtic hangs in the balance, with the club and player both seemingly looking for a resolution that could see the Israeli winger continue his career elsewhere.

  1. The best thing Celtic can do is offload this troublesome player and do not recruit other Israeli players in the future.

Abada was put on the footballing map by Celtic and now he betrays the contractual agreement he made with the club because a handful of idiots held up some pro-Palestine banners. The vast majority of Celtic fans have been supportive of Abada and he has repayed their support by hampering the team at a time when it really needed him to perform.

I don’t really care what’s going through his mind, he earns a lot more money than I’ll ever see in my lifetime. There are things in life and work that none of us likes but we have to man up and get on with the daily grind. This boy is yet to mature in that sense, yet to arrive at the point where he tells those negative voices in Israel that he agreed a contract with a club that has welcomed and looked after him, and is honour-bound to repay that loyalty. Best thing Celtic can do now is offload him as soon as possible. It’s unfair on the other players (and staff) to have to deal with this depressing business every day. Let him move on with his sultry mood to pastures new.
