Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers singled out one of his players for praise after his side triumphed 6-0 over Aberdeen this afternoon. It was a deserved win for the Hoops who bounced back from a disappointing defeat to Atletico Madrid midweek.

Into the starting eleven in place of the injured Daizen Maeda, winger Yang came to the fore early doors. He nodded home at the back post less than ten minutes in and throughout, was impressive in his performance.

Post-match, his gaffer Rodgers praised him. He said (BBC Sportsound via Football Scotland): “Yang as a young player I was really pleased with him today. When he first came he either beat his man or lost the ball but you see the development in him, taking players with him, he’s a good size, he’s quick and has good ability. Now he’s arriving into areas we want and that’s where he got his goal.”

Yang’s goal this afternoon, in which he popped up at the back post after a deep cross, was reminiscent of one Liel Abada would score. His overall performance was eye-catching, and he will be eager to keep his place in the starting eleven post-international break.
