Speaking after Celtic beat Hapoel Be’er Sheeva 5-2 in the first leg of their Champions League play-off the Celtic manager had nothing but praise for the Celtic support who kept the faith when Celtic conceded two quick goals.

“The fans were absolutely incredible. The support tonight really helped the players, in here a few weeks ago I talked about the supporters being patient, I have to say a massive thank you. They have taken a huge stride forward tonight in terms of understanding how we want to work. When it went to 3-2, it might have been an edgey game, but they stayed calm and roared the team on.”

Let’s hope Celtic can finish the job off next week!

  1. What a great team out but still think should play 2 up front. And as for game good game I throught when we were 3.0 up I said oh yes nice could be high score but then when 2 goals from hbs and first of there goals throught off side ref seem to book a lot Celtic.players felt few from other team got away with murder. But 2 late goals for us sealed it well done hh
