Celtic are set to travel through to Edinburgh on Sunday afternoon to take on Hearts. Brendan Rodgers and his men will want nothing less than three points from the match.

In his second spell in charge of the champions, this is Rodgers’ first time heading to Tynecastle, a ground he will have mixed memories of.

The Irishman managed the Hoops in Gorgie five times during his maiden spell. On two occasions, the Bhoys were defeated.

In December 2017, Hearts thrashed Celtic 4-0 to end the Invincible streak and under a year later, they won 1-0 thanks to Kyle Lafferty.

Regarding victories away against the Jambos, though, there were a few memorable ones for the Irishman. Indeed Rodgers managed Celtic domestically for the first time at Tynecastle, with Scott Sinclair scoring late on in a 2-1 win.

In April of that season, the Hoops came to town again and were unmatched in a 5-0 victory that secured six in a row. Sinclair was central once more, bagging a hat-trick that day.

Then a year later, the champions ran out 3-1 victors thanks to goals from Moussa Dembele, Dedryck Boyata, and Sinclair. That was Rodgers’ last win at Tynecastle.

This weekend, he and his team will be keen to replicate a few of those memorable wins. It will be an arduous task, but there is no reason to suggest the Celts cannot go along the M8 and come back with all three points.
