Celtic’s interest in Danish striker Mathias Kvistgaarden has been met with a firm stance from Brondby’s director of football, Carsten Jensen.

As Celtic seeks to bolster its attacking options, especially with Kyogo Furuhashi and Oh Hyeon-gyu set to participate in the Asian Cup, Kvistgaarden has emerged as a target. However, Brondby is not keen on parting with their star player easily.

Celtic have also been linked to Aberdeen’s Miovslki in recent weeks, with links for Sydney van Hooijdonk resurfacing.

Jensen has made it clear that Brondby’s priority is to compete for the Danish championship and maintain a strong squad. He said that while the club is open to discussions, any offer for Kvistgaarden would have to be exceptionally compelling.

He said, “The declared goal is to fight for the championship as far as we can, and want to go all the way. So it is not so smart in that context to send your best players away and put some money in the bank.

He continued to Tipsbladet, “We approach this with an angle that says we want to keep the group together. But it goes without saying that we must also be responsible in relation to running the company. If you are blown away by something, you have to bring it up and discuss it.”

Celtic had a big for £4 million rejected in the summer, so these comments suggest that Celtic will have to increase their offer if they are serious about bringing Mathias Kvistgaarden to the club in January.

  1. We need a PROVEN goal scorer, one that has continued to score every week or not far from it.

If celtic go down this route, then we can kiss goodbye to this year’s title.

January will be one of the most important transfer windows in years, the board has to back the manager, tge manager gas to start getting the best out of the players already here, also the new signings gave to hit the ground running.

Strikers have to score and defenders have to defend…FULL STOP!!!

  2. Lost two games and were a bad team well if you read or listen to scottish media you will think that look at the facts we have no right winger mikey jihnstone should be on left but he is a luxury player when all is fit and we get offer for him he will go but he is on good money like some of the players that are not done it so compensation needed plus we are out of Europe a bug draw for new player if we get two players I’ll be happy but we still have best pool in spl no matter what is saved by biased media
