CALLUM MCGREGOR is awaiting the results of his scan to determine the severity of his facial injury picked up on Saturday evening against Alloa.

The Celtic captain’s face was bashed during the match and a visible dent on his cheekbone has many believing Callum has a fracture.

If a fracture is confirmed, the midfielder would likely miss around 4-6weeks of action for the bhoys.

It couldn’t come at a worse time for Celtic who have just got over a long round of injuries. Ange was welcoming back Christopher Jullien into the matchday squad and Jota is looking ready to go again. Callum going down is a major blow and we can only keep our fingers crossed it’s not a fracture.

The manager was downbeat after the win against Alloa where he watched not just Callum go off injured but also Ideguchi and Abada.

The standard of refereeing is under the spotlight again with Celtic fans insisting their players aren’t being protected by officials who are allowing some ridiculous challenges to go unpunished.

MailSport Callum could likely need surgery, meaning he will most certainly miss the Glasgow Derby.
