Barnsley will not let Callum Styles leave the club easily this window with the club set to battle relegation.

The left-sided player is adapted to more of an attacking role this season despite being recognised as a left-back.

With few options at the back, the side is set to play ‘hardball’ over a potential exit, according to the Daily Record.

Speaking on the matter, Barnsley boss Poya Asbaghi had this to say on the matter;

“In the end, we want to make room in the squad and it’s better to let go of players who aren’t playing not players who are playing.”

Styles is a regular in the team, therefore tempting the club to sell at the moment may not be feasible.

With the left-wing position tied down to Jota, it is likely that the potential addition of the 21-year-old will attempt to find the replacement of Kieran Tierney, if that is possible.

However, with Greg Taylor putting pen-to-paper on a long-term contract it is potentially just media speculation driving things.

The transfer rumours are not slowing down, even with three additions at Parkhead already there’s still more business to be done.

It has been refreshing to see the Celtic board conduct themselves quickly when it came to acquiring the Japanese trio. Bringing in key signings before the window officially opened was a welcome surprise.

We might have to be patient the rest of this window.
