CARL STARFELT says he has no interest in pushing for a move away from Celtic in the near future.

The defender is away on international duty with Sweden and has been conducting a few interviews in his home country.

Whenever a player returns to his home, there are usually questions around their current situation and if they’re looking to make a move in the near future.

This time was no different, but Carl was assured in his answer and is loving life at Celtic.

Speaking in his homeland and cited by RecordSport, Starfelt said“No, I like it very much as it is right now. If something comes up, we’ll deal with it then. But I have no thoughts right now except for Celtic.”

“It’s fantastic. Of course, it is something special to win great titles and it is something you really strive for as a football player. To be able to be at a club where it is expected of you and where it means so much to so many people is also incredible and a great feeling.

“We dominate in matches and get a lot of the ball. Defending high, and having a lot of play as well, I have had to develop many, many areas. It’s a big club where you are expected to win so you really have to push yourself to develop all the time.”

Celtic’s first choice centre back pairing of Carl Starfelt and CCV has been the foundation for Celtic’s three trophies under Ange Postecoglou and it could yield more silverware before the end of the season.

Carl has his detractors and people who like to make him a scapegoat. He does far more great work for Celtic but some people want to highlight any mistake he makes, rather than praise him for his record.
