SCOTT BROWN revealed what Ange Postecoglou said to him post-match at Celtic Park when he returned to Glasgow in an Aberdeen jersey.

The Celtic Legend spent 8 months with the Dons before retiring from the game and taking up a management position at Fleetwood.

Broony played against Celtic twice, and the time at Celtic Park, he was received very well by the Celtic support who had no way of thanking the former celtic captain when he left during the pandemic.

Once the game was over, Ange went to Scott and wanted the former Celt to go get the applause he was due.

Brown told Football Scotland: “He was fantastic with me when I came back to Celtic Park with Aberdeen. He said to walk around the stadium and go and take the applause that you are due.

“That’s not for me doing that with another strip on. But even small details like that and other managers I’ve spoken to speak really highly of him as well.

“Would I have enjoyed playing for Ange? I think I would have. I’m not so sure I would enjoy playing for him at 37! I’d be struggling to keep up with the lads, that’s for sure.”

Ange is so personable and is liked by most people in the game who meet him. He goes that extra mile and his knowledge of players and the game in the UK take some by surprise.

Former Ibrox player Alan Hutton once recalled being taken aback that Ange knew who he was and knew about his career. The Celtic manager loves football!

In an alternate universe, Broony and Ange could have worked together. The Celtic legend was offered a two-year deal to stay at Celtic before Ange came through the door, but declined because he didn’t want to be the veteran player who sticks around long after his worth to the team is diminished.

Celtic fans will get the chance to give Scott Brown the applause he once missed when he comes to Glasgow to take in a very special night at the Hydro with fellow Celtic invincible Mikael Lustig.
