Celtic defender Cameron Carter-Vickers expressed his delight at making his Hoops debut in front of 60,000 fans after putting in a man of the match performance in the 3-0 win over Ross County.

Speaking to Celtic TV after that victory, the American was happy to get off to a winning start and insisted he is looking forward to experiencing the Parkhead crowd going forward.

“I thought we played well; I thought we persisted as they were tough to break down as it took a bit of time to get the first goal and then the other two.

“But I thought we played fairly well, although there are things we can improve on, defensively and going forward, but I think that will come.

Speaking about the opening goal of the game, Carter-Vickers added, “I think it was on target, so I think I’ll get the goal, but sometimes in those kind of games, you need a bit of luck. If you keep going and keep pushing forward, luck comes, and that’s what we needed.”

“I’m delighted to play in front of 60,000 fans is great. The atmosphere was good, and I’m looking forward to playing in more.”

It was an impressive start to life with the club for the former Tottenham defender, as he laid down the marker as to what Celtic fans can come to expect from him as a player.

His all-round defensive display was pretty solid, and he looked good on the ball, so I would imagine Celtic fans were sent home happy with his debut display.

Of course, he also adds some much-needed options in the central defensive areas. So, it is good to see he has the talent and ability to, hopefully, flourish in this Celtic side.
