The young player, who can play anywhere on the left, has found minutes hard to come by after Greg Taylor returned from his injury.

However, Celtic do believe he has a future in green and white but he must continue his development and play first-team football.

The loan could help to player improve vital parts of his game so that upon his return to Celtic he could play a larger role in the squad.

The championship side is suitable for Montgomery, the Ayrshire side will look to dominate most games and spend time on the ball. Much like how a Celtic team would like to play, albeit at a higher level.

Adam has shown a lot of potential and it’s absolutely the right thing to send him out to get more game time.
