Celtic is reportedly exploring the possibility of appointing rising Italian managerial talent Francesco Farioli as the successor to Ange Postecoglou, according to the Daily Record.

The Scottish giants are leaving no stone unturned in their search for a new manager following Postecoglou’s departure to Tottenham Hotspur.

While talks have been held with former Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers about a potential return to Parkhead, and Manchester City coach Enzo Maresca is also being considered, Farioli has emerged as another name on their list of potential candidates.

The 34-year-old Italian has garnered attention for his work at Benevento and Sassuolo, where he worked under Brighton manager Roberto De Zerbi.

Farioli’s recent coaching experiences include spells in Turkey with Fatih Karagumruck and Antalyaspor, where he has been praised for his commitment to attacking football. Although he does not have an extensive playing career, Farioli’s coaching abilities have drawn interest from Celtic.

His name joins many others on what is now a longlist, rather than a shortlist.
