CELTIC have won the Scottish Youth Cup on Wednesday evening after a 6-5 thriller at Hampden. Winning the trophy for the first time since 2017.

Ange Postecoglou was in attendance as the game swung both for and away from Celtic during the 90 minutes. It was a case of both teams throwing caution to the wind and going for it on the night.

Both sets of teams left nothing out there, but it was Celtic who triumphed in extra time. The sensational sixth goal from Celtic’s Lewis Scobbie sealed the victory, a cheeky backheel flick past the Ibrox goalkeeper is a fitting goal to win the trophy.

The game started with Rangers* taking the lead through Jack Roberts, but Celtic quickly equalised through Mitchell Frame after a well-worked move. Shortly after, Corey Thomson put the Hoops in front by turning the Rangers* defence and slotting past Jacob Pazikas. Rangers got back into the game with Roberts scoring his second of the final, but Daniel Kelly restored Celtic’s lead. Archie Stevens levelled again for Rangers with a brilliant run from inside the Celtic half.

Rangers* started the second half with a goal from Findlay Curtis, but Leyton Grant’s own goal brought Celtic back level and they wouldn’t go behind again.

In extra time, Daniel Cummings scored the winning goal for Celtic with a header from a Jude Bonnar cross, while Lewis Dobbie added another with a brilliant backheel. Tyler Pasnik scored a late consolation for the Rangers*, but it was not enough for Cameron Campbell’s side. Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou looked happy with the young side’s performance.
