CELTIC will be boosted by the news Liam Scales has been called up to the Ireland squad for the international doubleheader.
The new Hoops defender wasn’t in the initial Ireland squad but has now replaced Ryan Manning who has returned to Swansea with an injury.
Scales hasn’t been featured much at all for Celtic since coming in at the end of August.
The defender got some second-half minutes against Raith Rovers in the quarter-final of the league cup but since has taken his place on the bench.
Time away with the international squad will be great for Liam’s confidence and help his fitness ahead of Celtic return a week on Saturday.

Greg Taylor is currently sidelined with an injury leaving Celtic with Adam Montgomery to deputies in his absence. Liam should be fit enough to help share the responsibilities going forward.
It remains to be seen if the defender will get any game time during the international break or he will just be training with the squad.
