Kristoffer Ajer will be at the centre of a transfer tussle this summer but anyone who believes Celtic are going to let go of the defender for a low ball fee can think again.
MailSport report Newcastle are ready to launch an £8m bid for the centre-back and believe they can land him for that price.
While it’s true Ajer is entering the final year of his deal, the club are well aware what Kristoffer is worth much more than that.
There’s not really a chance of Kris signing a new deal so it’s all about getting the best price.
Given interest will heighten in the summer, the Hoops will be expecting something more in the £15m range.
Even at that, the defender is a bargain for any English Premier League side who want to take a punt on him.
The Hoops are still to name a new manager but once that’s done and dusted the player rebuild begins. A year extra of Kristoffer Ajer is worth more to the club than £8m and if clubs really want him they must highly boost the Parkhead coffers.
