Celtic is making waves in Japan and they’re taking the SPFL along for the ride.

It’s been announced the SPFL has been picked up by Japanese streaming service SpotNowTV. The broadcaster has paid for the rights to air the Scottish Premiership.

They’re coverage will be Celtic centric according to Japanese based journalist Dan Orlowitz for obvious reasons.

Celtic have four former J-league players on their books; Kyogo, Maeda, Hatate and Ideguchi. Three out of the four have made a massive impact in Glasgow since joining.

Since signing Kyogo, Celtic have been making in-roads in the Japanese market. The Parkhead club has set up a Japanese social media account that’s run from Japan. They also opened a Japanese Celtic shop online to capitalise on the current popularity.

More access to the SPFL and Celtic means the club could further financially benefit from having the Japanese bhoys on the books. As long as they’re doing the business on the park, the fans will be delighted.
