Celtic have confirmed they will wear the number 10 on their shorts on Saturday evening for the League Cup semi-Final tie against St Johnstone to honour the late Bertie Auld.

The former Celtic midfielder passed away last weekend and there has been a massive outpouring of emotion for the Lisbon Lion.

Like his former teammate Jimmy Johnstone, the club will honour him by wearing Bertie’s number on their shorts. Celtic did something similar when Jimmy passed away, during a League Cup final which was appropriately dubbed ‘The Jimmy Johnstone’ final.

Bertie has been a huge part of the Celtic family for such a long time and we expect some emotional moments at the national stadium on Saturday.

It’s great to know there will be a visible tribute throughout the match for the wee man.

Celtic are hoping to get into the final against the current holders, it will also be Ange Postecoglou’s first game in charge of the Hoops at Hampden Park.
