CELTIC have this afternoon confirmed they will play a Celtic Park Friendly on July 13th at against French side Rennes.

The bhoys will play the game mid July in between Euro qualifiers.

Celtic have four qualifiers to negotiate through and this game will be about fitness and will likely feature players like Maryan Shved and Vakoun Bayo providing they’re fit.

The club has announced this will be a season ticket game with one Euro qualifier and one friendly usually put in as part of the season book. There were calls last year to scrap the Celtic Park friendly and not charge season ticket holders for the first two qualifiers. However, this has fallen on deaf ears and instead the club will go ahead with a sparsely populated game against Rennes.

Neil Lennon has not confirmed he has taken the job yet but he has a big summer ahead of him to ensure the bhoys are ready for a very early pre-season.
