Tomáš Čvančara has made a promising start to life back in the Czech Republic after leaving Celtic at the end of last season.

The striker is now on loan at Hradec Králové and has already made an impact in his first three league appearances.

Čvančara has registered one goal and one assist across 253 minutes in the Czech First League, with Hradec taking seven points from the nine available during that run.

His latest contribution came on Sunday in a 2-1 away win over Zlín.

The former Celtic forward played the full 90 minutes and found the net as Hradec picked up another important victory.

That followed an assist in his first appearance against Sparta Prague on September 6, when Hradec also won 2-1.

He then played 79 minutes in a goalless draw with Viktoria Plzeň before getting on the scoresheet against Zlín.

It leaves Čvančara with a direct goal contribution every 126.5 minutes so far.

Hradec are also enjoying a solid start to the season.

They currently sit sixth in the Czech First League on 14 points from eight matches, only two points behind third place.

Čvančara’s early numbers will certainly catch the eye after his spell at Celtic never really developed into a consistent run.

He joined the Hoops on loan and had his moments, including some memorable contributions, but Celtic ultimately decided not to take up the option to sign him permanently.

His time in Glasgow ended with two goals and one assist from 13 appearances.

Three games into his latest spell, he has already matched his assist tally from Celtic and is halfway to his goals total.

It is still very early, and three matches is nowhere near enough to make any sweeping judgement.

But for Čvančara, a goal, an assist and an unbeaten start with his new side represents a decent way to get going again.
