Celtic defender Josip Juranovic has been linked with yet another Premier League move with Tottenham Hotspur reported to be interested in the fullback [Football Scotland].
There was much speculation about Juranovic’s future during the summer transfer window with the Croatian internationalist having been linked to likes of Manchester United and Atletico Madrid.
Rumours around his future have once again intensified as Celtic get set to confirm the signing of Canadian defender Alistair Johnston from CF Montreal.
Many believe that Johnston’s imminent arrival at The Hoops indicates that Juranovic will likely be sold either this January or during the summer window.
With Croatia having progressed to the Last 16 of the World Cup, it is hoped that the 27-year-olds value increases further as it is likely a good time to sell the player.
It feeds into Ange Postecoglou’s comments at the annual Celtic AGM a few weeks ago when he explained the aggressive approach which the Scottish champions would have to take in the transfer market in order for the team to be continually evolving.
The more clubs interested in Juranovic’s services the better for Celtic as it will only increase the value of the player with former Spurs keeper Paul Robinson believing that Antonio Conte could move for the defender.
“The right-wing back position is clearly an area that Antonio Conte is unhappy with. The Tottenham fans are not happy too,” said Paul Robinson speaking to OLBG.
“Emerson Royal is very inconsistent, Matt Doherty has been in and out of the side. Conte will be looking at Josip Juranovic after his performance against Canada, but Conte wants might want more of a specialised wing-back.”
