It has been a crazy World Cup tournament so far with all four Celtic players who were selected for the tournament having made it to the knockout round.

The performances of all Celtic stars involved have been impressive as they have all managed to get some gametime at the tournament.

Two of the surprises was to see Japan and Australia get out of their groups with many having thought Germany and Denmark would take the other spaces although that was proved to be very wrong.

Japan last night defeated Spain 2-1 who had looked like one of the top teams in the tournament. The win was overshadowed by controversy surrounding the second goal although new images show that not all of the ball was over the line meaning that it was right for the Samurai Blue’s goal to count.

It sets up a Last 16 tie against Croatia which will see Celts Josip Juranovic and Daizen Maeda go up against each other which shall be an interesting battle for any Hoops fans tuning in.

If Maeda was playing where he generally starts under Ange he would directly be against Juranovic by Hajime Moriyasu prefers to play him through the middle.

Elsewhere Aaron Mooy’ Australia will be up against Argentina and Cameron Carter-Vickers USA shall face the Netherlands.
