The Celtic community has always been one to rally around a cause, and the response to our recent fundraiser is a testament to that fact. After a Celtsarehere clip of Celtic fans singing against the coronation was beamed around the world, the response was nothing short of incredible.
The clip caught the attention of BBC’s ‘Have I got news for You’, who reached out to us to offer a fee of £200 to use the footage on the show.
We decided it was only right that money was donated to a local Glasgow foodbank and invited others to contribute to the cause. And what followed was truly remarkable.
Within less than 24 hours, the fundraiser had amassed over £12k for the most deprived people in Glasgow, thanks to the incredible generosity of not just Celtic fans but the wider community as well. The response was overwhelming, and it truly shows the power of collective action.
At a time when the cost of living is rising, and families across the country are struggling, the decision to fund a part for a man who holds immense wealth seems incredibly insensitive and wasteful. The decision to donate to a food bank is a reflection of the values of the Celtic community, which has always been committed to supporting the most vulnerable in society.
Everyone at Celtsarehere would like to thank everyone for their incredible efforts, and generosity. We are truly overwhelmed by the response.
I don't really know what to say about this! Thank you so much. Just had a look at the page and the generosity is overwhelming. This will help lots of people in our local communities. Amazing kindness 💚💚💚
