Celtic finally conducted their fans forum on Thursday after it being previously cancelled.

It was Dominic McKay’s first real chance to talk to normal supporters and one of the first times he’s been allowed to conduct business for the club. Up until now, McKay has been shadowing Peter Lawwell who is still very much in charge.

The fans forum was set up a few years back to bring supporters in on a quarterly basis to discuss issues within the fanbase and how the club can move forward.

Ginty from the Cynic attended the remote meeting on Thursday and gave his social media following

A low key Fan Forum conducted through Microsoft Teams.

It was a chance for Dominic McKay to introduce himself & hear some of the concerns of the fans.

Dominic McKay introduced himself and gave a brief summary of his vision.

He wants to:
• modernise the Club on and off the field
• engage with supporters worldwide
• hit the ground running

European Championships and discussions with various Government groups have McKay optimistic of fans back in the stadium come August.

How that will look is still unclear but 12,000 at Hampden for Euros is the benchmark.

Plans for 40-45,000 at Wembley for end of tournament.

Celtic will lead planning and preparations as they have all along.

Season Tickets 20/21 and 21/22

Still in consultation regarding this. Understand the frustrations of the fans & trying to weigh this up with needs for the forthcoming season.

No decisions have been made, still listening to fans while preparing different models.

I and other fans raised concerns about the poor communication from the Club.

Again, Dominic reiterated his intention to modernise this area of the Club to rebuild the relationship between the fans and the custodians.

I found Dominic to be engaging and personable. His positivity is infectious, I’m sure this will spread throughout the entire Club. I look forward to seeing the first signs of modernisation within the Club as we begin the rebuild.

Definitely issues to be addressed but I much rather McKay was positive in front of fans and shaking things up behind the scenes.

Dominic McKay has a big challenge on his hands but he can’t be judged until the role is his. From what we’ve heard about the incoming CEO, he is a massive proponent of better communication.

Right now, he’s still very much just learning the ropes of the business.

Peter Lawwell has got around 6 weeks left in the job before stepping down and from what we’ve learned about Peter over the years, he’ll relinquish power at 5pm at the end of June.

The snail’s pace in how Celtic are conducting many vital parts of the business is the biggest concern right now. From getting in the manager to assessing the season tickets, we need things to happen.

  1. At least you get the feeling he’ll listen to fans. Even if the answer is not the one we want at least get feeling he’ll tell us and explain the direction he’s going in. Sounds very promising and think this is going to be an excellent addition to the Celtic family.
