An international manager has been linked to the job in the Celtic dugout.

The Hoops brought back Martin O’Neill for the second time this season when they called it quits with Wilfried Nancy in January.

The Irish manager was brought in to see out the season with Celtic, after he brought the Hoops level with Hearts before departing in December. He lost his first league game at the weekend, working in near-impossible conditions with a massive rift between the fans and boardroom.

Celtic will look to make a few appointments in the summer. As well as boardroom changes, a new manager will be brought in.

There have been a few names linked to the job over the past few weeks, but now a new name has emerged.

Former Brighton and Chelsea manager Graham Potter has been mentioned.

Pete O’Rourke has reported that he’s an “outsider” but is an option for Celtic. The journalist also reports that there are many other clubs keeping an eye on Potter.

Potter is currently the Sweden manager and is looking to take them to the World Cup for the first time in eight years.

The face Ukraine in March in the semi-final of qualification, before facing Poland or Albania in the final.

His contract with the country only covers until the end of the qualifying group, but could be extended until after the finals, according to The Guardian.

So, if Sweden doesn’t make it to America this summer, there could be some movement in the potential search once April rolls around.

There will likely be other managers linked to the post; Roberto Martinez has been mentioned, while Chris Sutton would like to see the club make a move for Jens Berthel Askou.
