Celtic have today confirmed their official allocation for the Glasgow Derby new Year fixture set to take place on January 2nd. [Celtic FC Tickets]

The official club ticket account confirmed the bhoys will have just 708 supporters inside the stadium when the Scottish Champions turn up to Ibrox.

A random ballot amongst Season Ticket holders who have attended 42 or more away games over seasons 21/22, 19/20 and 18/19 will take place.

The 708 briefs appears to be another cut of tickets. The Ibrox club famously revoked Celtic’s large derby allocation after years of the bhoys rocking up to Ibrox and humiliating their team on the field. The parties in the stands would be to much to bear for the bears.

Celtic had no choice but to reciprocate and cut the Ibrox club’s allocation. The Hoops board has tried several times to enter into meaningful discussions about bringing back more away fans to this derby but they’ve been met with nonsense.

Celtic won 2-1 last time out at Ibrox in what essentially wrapped up the league title last season. The bhoys also used their extended home support to smash their rivals 3-0 and 4-0 in 2022.

The bhoys have three games to go before the trip to Govan.

  1. I would have increased the hun allocation slightly by say a hundred or so to gain the moral high ground and stop the MSM spinning it to say Celtic started it.

    Simple

  2. Why not ballot all STH for the tickets instead of the current closed shop?
Vast majority of STH not allowed to apply for away tickets so how the f### are we EVER going to get away tickets for any ground apart from Livvy?
Many paid for a ST during the covid season yet still treated like dirt.
