Celtic have been linked with a move for Andraz Sporar in recent days and according to Bratislava Director Ivan Kmotrík they have held a meeting with Celtic representatives today about a deal for the striker. Neil Lennon confirmed interest this week to SkySports.

Andraz, 25, has caught the attention of many clubs in Europe – bagging 20 goals in 26 appearances this term for his club.

Celtic are on the look out for a striker and if the what the Bratislava Director is saying is correct, then the Scottish Champions could be closing in on a striker sooner rather than later.

Loosely translated:

There are many people interested in Andraza. Celtic Glasgow is the most aggressive yet. We have a meeting with the representatives of this club right now. We’ll see what happens, so far nothing is clear. We still don’t have the offer we accept. , Italy, and representatives from Spain came in over the weekend.” Ivan Kmotrík told Pluska.SK

The sticking point will be the fee with reports suggesting it could cost up to £7m for the player according to SunSport.

Odsonne Edouard has been carrying the can all season and propelling the team to the top of the league as well as in Europe.

With Bayo and Leigh Griffiths both having long spells out injured and unfit, there’s been no backup for the Frenchman and when he did get injured, Neil Lennon had to rely on Lewis Morgan up front.

Getting in a fit, prolific striker can only enhance Celtic’s chances of bagging more silverware this term.
