It is being reported that Celtic are amongst the teams in the race to sign young Irish starlet Sean Moore [NUFC Blog].

The 17-year-old winger currently plays for Irish Premiership side Cliftonville and has had an impressive start to his football career.

In recent days he was called up to the Republic of Ireland U19 squad despite having represented Northern Ireland at U18 level [BBC Sport].

He is a talent on the rise which is certainly being noticed at international level having already made 25 appearances this season.

Moore has started the last started that last eight games for his side and contributed four goals which has helped his side to the top of the league.

As well as Celtic being amongst the clubs in the mix to sign the youngster, English Premier League clubs are also showing an interest as Brighton, Newcastle and West Ham are also being mentioned as part of the conversation over the Irishman’s future.

Under the watch of Ange Postecoglou, the Hoops have added two additions from Ireland including Liam Scales and Johnny Kenny.

It’s not worked out for both in Glasgow but getting the chance to move to a huge club like Celtic may be too much of a temptation for Moore.

Although Newcastle appear the frontrunners, if he did make the switch to Glasgow he would likely be part of the B team set up under Stephen McManus and Darren O’Dea which is continually improving as the manager hopes some players will soon make a breakthrough into the first team.
