Strømsgodset Sporting Director Flo to Drammen Tidende has told media in Norway that Celtic have inquired about their player Stefan Johansen but was quick to point out that no formal bid has been made for the midfielder.

“Celtic are one of the clubs showing interest in Stefan. But there has been nothing more than that” he said.

Stefan is just one of the options Celtic are weighing up, at 23 years old he would certainly fit into the signing criteria at Celtic. While a striker has to be top of the list, Celtic have been lacking any sort of ingenuity in midfield with some consistently flat performances from our bhoys so it’s no surprise Neil Lennon is looking at this area of the team.

Stefan has played for his country at every level since under 16s, he now has 5 full caps to his name, scoring a goal in the process.

This deal would very much hinge on how much Strømsgodset want for the player who seems to be realistically  valued around the £2million mark.

Celtic are just one of a number of clubs looking at the player.
