CELTIC have left Inter Milan with a bloody nose and not for the first time in our history with the transfer of Vakoun Issouf Bayo. SunSport reports the striker was subject to an 11th-hour bid from the Italian giants who wanted to snatch the player out of Celtic’s grasp.

Bayo signed on a four-year deal on Tuesday, but that was not before the Italians reportedly cut in on the deal and agreed to pay the same fee for the striker which Celtic had agreed.

The report suggests the Italian’s wanted to sign the Ivory Coast frontman and loan him straight out to another club to get more experience before being considered for the Inter first team.

Celtic were very persistent with Bayo he would be integrated into the Celtic set up immediately and would get his chance in the first team to make his mark.

This would have been a deciding factor for the striker who has been enjoying banging in the goals this season.

If Bayo can replicate his form for Celtic, then he may manage quite a few goals by the end of the season.

Inter can have him in three-years time for around £40milliom – so all is not lost!
