Celtic are reportedly eyeing up a central defensive option for the summer, with Bosnian defender Sinisa Sanicanin being linked with a move.

As reported by the Daily Record, a report in Romania has suggested that the Hoops could be lining up a move for the 25-year old who’s deal will run out in June but he is not expected to make his final decision until the summer.

Currently, Sanicanin plays for Serbian side Vojvodina and has attracted interest from several Turkish sides such as Galatasaray and Besiktas. He also made his national team debut for Bosnia against Italy last September and holds eight caps overall.

Defensive options will certainly need to be added in the summer. This season has been a pretty disastrous one at the back for Neil Lennon’s side and whilst we have seen the resurgence of someone such as Stephen Welsh, it is also highly likely we will lose a couple of players like Kristoffer Ajer and Shane Duffy.

Some may be happy to see Duffy head back up the after what has been an uninspiring loan spell but at the end of the day, it is another option that will need to be replaced.
