CELTIC’S need for defenders has opened the floodgates for all sorts of players being linked with the club this summer.

With the squad set to reassemble next week, it won’t be too much longer before we see concrete moves being made in the transfer market.

The latest player the club have been linked with is Reading’s, Liam Moore. The Reading Chronicle claim the defender was wanted by the club once before and they are now set to renew their interest in the player.

There is apparently some financial problems at the Madjeski if the report is to be believed with the paper claiming the club could be tempted to cash in on their defender if a large enough offer was to come their way.

Moore, 26, played 41 times for Reading last season and the player is contracted until 2023.

Last summer the player put in a transfer request but the club opted to eject bids of around £8million at the time. There would be no chance of Celtic going anywhere near that figure.
