Ben Summers, Celtic’s emerging talent, might soon sport Dunfermline Athletic’s colors, albeit temporarily.

The Championship side is reportedly in active talks with Celtic about securing a season-long loan for the 19-year-old midfielder.

Despite showcasing tremendous potential and even making inroads into Ange Postecoglou’s senior team by the close of last season, consistent first-team action at Celtic might be a bridge too far for Summers this year.

A loan move to Dunfermline could be the perfect solution, ensuring he garners the much-needed first-team minutes.

Dunfermline has a track record of providing Celtic players with opportunities to shine. Last season, they successfully integrated Ewan Otoo into their squad on loan.

Impressed by his performance, they sealed a permanent deal for him over the summer. We’d be hoping to see progress for Celtic rather than the Hoops selling Summers in a years time.

The primary concern is if Dunfermline offers the right environment for Summers’ growth.

With the loan discussions underway according to journalist Scott Burns, Ben could soon be playing first team football.
