Liam Shaw looks set to join Motherwell on-loan for the rest of the season according to the Scotsman.

The midfielder signed a pre-contract with Celtic this time last year and joined up with the Hoops in the summer.

The defensive midfielder has played nine minutes of SPFL football, 65 minutes in a Europa League dead rubber and a couple of Challenge cup games for the B team.

The lad who showed potential at Sheffield Wednesday has stalled and needs game time. Getting out to a side like Motherwell could be the making of Liam.

Playing the second half of the season at Fir Park would certainly give Shaw a confidence boost and get vital game time in the league.

In the recent past Kristoffer Ajer going to Kilmarnock readied him for the Celtic first team.

Liam will be further down the pecking order at Celtic now both Ideguchi and Hatate are in the building. The loan deal makes sense for all parties.

The Steelmen are fourth in the table right now and doing well under current manager Graham Alexander.
