Celtic would have wanted to go to war with the Rangers on the 31st of March with their eight-point cushion still intact. With the Ibrox club playing Killie today most people expected the deficit to be five points by tomorrow.

Step forward, Allan McGregor. He literally stepped forward, went for a walk outside of his box and allowed Conor McAleny to give the visitors a 0-1 lead. Kilmarnock had to hang on in the second half but eventually caved in and had to settle for a 1-1 draw. Steve Clark would have loved to walk out with all three points after the racist abuse he suffered a few weeks ago at Ibrox.

A share of the spoils is good news for Celtic though. They were placed in the same position last week but failed to capitalise and extend their lead to ten points when they drew with Aberdeen. Dundee should be an easier task for the Bhoys tomorrow, Celtic’s record against the Dee is incredible and now they have an added incentive for tomorrow and the upcoming Glasgow derby.
