Oh, what a time to be alive! As we stand thirteen points clear atop the SPFL on the brink of a historic treble, one can’t help but chuckle at the increasingly desperate claims by Rangers fans and some pundits that the gap between Celtic and The Rangers is closing.

They seem to be clinging to the idea that their team will be a force to be reckoned with next season – just you wait. But let’s not get ahead of ourselves, shall we?

Now, don’t get me wrong. I don’t doubt The Rangers’ ability to improve their squad next year. After all, that’s what football clubs do – they build and rebuild in the hopes of achieving their targets.

But what seems to have escaped the minds of these “optimistic” fans and pundits is the simple fact that Celtic are aren’t going to stand still this summer. We, too, are constantly striving to better our squad, our tactics, and our chances of success under a relentless Ange Postecoglou.

It’s as if they believe that while The Rangers are busy assembling their footballing Avengers, Celtic will be sitting idly by, twiddling our thumbs and admiring our trophy cabinet. Newsflash, folks: we’re not planning on letting our grip on the SPFL title slip anytime soon and certainly not without a fight.

And let’s not forget the beginning of the season, when many a pundit tipped The Rangers to clinch the SPFL title. Yet, as the season unfolded suddenly, it was all about how unfair it was that Celtic could outspend their rivals. Talk about a convenient memory lapse!

So, while they talk the talk and their supporters dream of assembling a team good enough to challenge Celtic, we’ll be here, continuing to build on our already strong foundations.

In the meantime, we’ll keep enjoying the view from the top, indulging in a little bit of laughter at the expense of our rivals, and looking forward to another season of showing the SPFL what Ange Postecoglou and his men can do.

Glasgow is green and white!
