It is being reported that Celtic have received their first concrete offer for defender Josip Juranovic.

Serie A club Monza were said to have been in talks with the Scottish champions about a loan deal with obligation to buy but that could now be off the cards. The transfer fee of £6 million is very low and it is unlikely Celtic would entertain such an offer.

La Liga club Espanyol are said to have become the first club to have made a bid for the Croatian international and will be hoping to land his signature this month [Tuttomercato].

They could battle it out with a few other Spanish clubs as Barcelona and Atletico Madrid are also apparently interested in the 27-year-olds services as well as Premier League side Chelsea who are looking for someone to fill the boots of injure Reece James.

Espanyol had been one of the many rumoured clubs to have been linked with the Croat during the World Cup, but talk went very quiet until recently.

As Alistair Johnston is already in the door at Celtic having played his first game in the New Year derby, there is no doubt that Juranovic will be leaving Celtic during this transfer window but as he is contracted to the club for another three years, it will ultimately be the club that make the decision.
