CELTIC have tonight released a statement to supporters over the failed Eddie Howe appointment.
The club put it down to circumstances outwith both their and Eddie Howe’s control.
This would be in keeping with what Celtic told us earlier this afternoon when the news of a breakdown in talks filtered through.
From the club’s perspective, they are briefing fan media and the mainstream media that it came down to Eddie’s coaches not wanting to relocate to Glasgow.
This has plunged Celtic into yet another mess. We are so far down the line with pre-season weeks away and the club are now looking for another manager.
Yes, they will have a list of names but will these managers have any real fighting chance of building a team for next season on such short notice?
It appears we are up a certain creek and we’ve lost our rowing apparatus.
Whatever the reason, and the truth to all of this one thing is clear, it’s a long way back for Celtic from here.
