CELTIC could be set to recoup the majority of the cash they splashed out on Greek goalie Vasilis Barkas.
Greek publication Sportdog have reported that the Hoops have set a £4.4 million price tag on loanee goalkeeper Vasilis Barkas. It’s also believed that Celtic would owe 10% of any fee brought in on the keeper to AEK Athens.
The former AEK Athens stopper was signed by Celtic in 2020 to replace Fraser Forster, however, a string of high–profile blunders saw him loaned out to Dutch side Utrecht last summer.
He’s been impressive this season, with Utrecht interested in making his loan permanent. In 32 games, he’s kept nine clean sheets.
It would be some great business from Celtic to sell Barkas for such a fee and could allow the club to reinvest the money into the team, with Ange Postecoglou more than capable of picking up a hidden gem for a small fee.
