Celtic are set to battle it out with Welsh side Swansea City for the signature of Exeter City youngster Joel Randall.

As reported by Glasgow Live, the 21-year talent has broken through at the League 2 club this season and faces a whole host of interest from clubs in England and North of the border with Celtic.

So far this season, he has scored six goals in 14 appearances for Exeter and recently came up against Celtic loan player Lee O’Connor and Tranmere Rovers, grabbing two assists in that game.

The Exeter academy system is starting to gain more traction with players such as Ollie Watkins now at Aston Villa and Ethan Ampadu who is a Chelsea player, all coming from City’s academy in recent years.

It is currently thought that the League 2 side value Randall at around £1.5 million.

This move looks like an interesting one, which could see Celtic react early to try and attract talent from lower down the English Leagues. It has worked before with the likes of Gary Hooper but it remains to be seen whether Randall could live up to that price tag in the Green and White Hoops.
