Certainly one for the future but Celtic have managed to successfully stave off interest from the Premier League to sign young Hoops prospect Daniel Kelly to a new deal.
According to RecordSport, some elite clubs around Europe will trying to sign the young lad. We’ve seen this new tactic be deployed by the likes of Bayern Munich in recent years where they’re cherry picking our top young stars.
While this has no bearing on the immediate future it was becoming a concern Celtic were not holding onto some of their top youth products. Making sure Daniel stays out means the club can continue to monitor his progress and get him ready for first team opportunities.
The youngster has been coming through the system at Celtic and with this new four-year deal in place, you never know when he’ll pop up in the first team.
With the likes of James Forrest and Callum McGregor absolutely key to the run we’re on at the moment — the more talent coming through, the better.
