NIR BITTON has left the Israeli camp early to return to Lennoxtown, a week before Celtic are to play their rivals.
The Celtic midfielder started and finished Israel’s 2-0 loss to Germany and was granted permission to travel back to Glasgow before his country plays Romania on Tuesday night.
This doesn’t seem injury-related, with Israeli FA, via Walla Sport, confirming that this was the original plan.
Bitton has been a great player this season, despite his reckless and thoughtless actions at some points.
Postecoglou has installed his faith and trust into the midfielder, making him vice-captain to Callum McGregor.
This season, the holding midfielder has put in some ace performances; it shows how much of a waste playing him at centre half.
Postecogllu will be delighted to welcome a player as influential as Bitton back to Lennoxtown injury-free. Hopefully, stars will finish with their international teams and begin to return to Glasgow uninjured over the coming days.
