The international setup means in September, October and November we all have to sit about and pretend we care about international football waiting on club football to make its return.
The unwelcome break means Celtic must wait over ten days to try and get back to winning ways after their defeat to Livingston. Some of the bhoys have headed out to play with their international sides – others have stayed behind at Lennoxtown and there’s one man who is doing neither – Tom Rogic!
No, he’s not injured and he wasn’t snubbed by his country.
The Australian is using this break wisely and more productively than some of our international bhoys by getting married!
Yes, ladies, it’s true! Tom Rogic will officially be off the market as he gets betrothed to one lucky lady.
Confirming the wedding, Australia boss Graham Arnold said he afforded Tom the opportunity to sit out their doubleheader this month in order to get married.
“I’ve had regular discussions with Tom since he had what was a season of injuries last year and he’s only just now coming back and building himself up slowly for what will be a big year ahead.” Arnold told RecordSport.
“Instead of linking up with us, he will use this break to get married.
“He’ll pretty much go straight back into pre-season training with Celtic from the Copa America, so we agreed he will get married in this window, given we didn’t expect him to be fully fit.”
Tom has been injured since pre-season and has only come back into the fold recently. The midfielder has made three appearances for the bhoys; one full 90 minutes against Partick Thistle in the League Cup and two brief sub appearances in the Scottish Premiership.
The Celtic star will come back a new man and he’ll need to hit the ground running after the wedding with Ryan Christie out the next two SPFL games through suspension
