JAMES FORREST has delivered the inside scoop on Jeremie Frimpong after the player made his third appearance for Celtic which also happens to be his third every professional game in general.

The Celtic winger was a lad who was called up to the Celtic squad at a young age and knows you have to be really good to get the call from Neil Lennon.

After coming in from Manchester City the plans were to bed the defender into the developmental side and see how he gets on but Forrest claims Jeremie’s performances during first team training couldn’t be ignored.

“Yeah, I feel old,” he told RecordSport.

“He is only 18 but he has come in and done really well. He has settled in well and he’s a really likeable guy.

“We signed him when we were on international break and straight away in training I think he impressed everyone.

“He got man of the match in his first game against Partick Thistle and has played really well when he has come into the team but I don’t think any of the boys are too surprised because we have seen him in training.

“Outside maybe not that many people will have heard of him.

“But we could see his quality right away when he first came in. He is confident but he a likeable boy and it is a credit to him the way he has come in.”

The right-back has made it difficult for Neil Lennon to leave him out any future starting XIs after his displays so far this season BUT the Celtic manager will know not to over expose the youngster.

Hatem Elhamed is there too and has not done much wrong to be dropped. Depending on the game, either could play.
