Celtic go up against Shakhtar Donetsk on Wednesday in Poland in Matchday two of the Champions League.

The Hoops weekend game against Livingston was unexpectedly postponed after the Queen died on Thursday.

Despite the extra time between games, it’s being reported that Carl Starfelt WON’T make the game against the Ukrainian side. [SunSport]

The Swede went off injured during the 4-0 Glasgow Derby victory earlier this month and missed out on the visit of Real Madrid during Matchday one of the Champions League.

Moritz Jenz is proving an important signing for the bhoys with Carl Starfelt’s injury problems as of late. The centre back missed the beginning of the season after picking up an injury playing for his country.

Carl isn’t expected to be out for too long. The Celtic manager will most likely give us an update on Tuesday.

The bhoys will be looking to get their first points in the board against Shakhtar who shocked Leipzig last week.

  1. Jenz has impressed so far so hope he continues in that vein but have to say I’m disappointed for young Welsh. For me he’s as good a defender as any we have when he gets a run of games. Know he wrnt off injured in his last game – wonder what the injury was & is he still bothered with it?
