Editor and chief of Sportime.gr has reported overnight that Celtic have indeed made a fresh offer for the Vasillas Barkas but the offer hasn’t moved much since the first one was rejected.
Reports in Greece claim Celtic’s offer doesn’t quite reach what Athens wants for the player but speculate the structure of the deal or potential bonuses being added could tip the scale in the club’s favour.
Right now, Celtic are less than a week out from their first SPFL tie of the season and have only one recognised first team goalkeeper.
BREAKING: According to greek newspaper ''Ora ton Spor'' #Celtic made a second offer(4.5m. euros) for #AEK Athens goalkeeper Vassilis #Barkas . If there is any bonus at the offer, is more or less, the same. Possible different way of payment. More to follow tmr#Celtic #AEK #Barkas

Barkas appears to be high up the list of Fraser Forster replacements if the Englishman isn’t coming back.
The bhoys will have to move swiftly in the coming days or they could face a goalkeeping crisis when the fixtures start to pile up.
Scott Bain spent a lot of last season out injured and if anything happens to the goalkeeper, Celtic don’t have a lot of options.
